Congratulations to The Kavli Foundation's President and CEO Robert Conn!
University of California, San Diego's Revelle Medal honors current and former faculty members who have helped establish UCSD as one of the top research universities in the world. This year, Dr. Robert Conn is one of the four honorees of this award for his work in "guiding the Jacobs School of Engineering through a transformative period of growth and recognition as its dean, positioning the school to reach and maintain the high ranking it has today."
Dr. Conn served as the Dean of the Irwin and Joan Jacobs School of Engineering and Walter J. Zable Professor of Engineering Science at UC San Diego from 1993-2004. During his tenure he established numerous research centers, such as: the Center for Wireless Communications, the Whitaker Institute for Biomedical Engineering and the California Institute for Telecommunications and Information Technology (Calit2), and the von Liebig Center for Entrepreneurism and Technology Transfer.
The honorees will receive their awards at UC San Diego's Founders Celebration, an annual celebration of the university's founding in 1960, in mid-November.
