Quantum engineering has the ability to transform some of the most fundamental things around us -- from basic computers, to communication, to how we sense things. Caltech's Division of Engineering and Applied Science published a feature article in its annual publication ENGenious on the field of quantum engineering and the faculty members who are trailblazing new paths to discovery.
The article highlights professors Oskar Painter, Keith Schwab, Andrei Faraon, and Thomas Vidick -- all play integral roles in studying and realizing the limits of quantum science and technology. From understanding the theory behind the science to enhancing its real-life applications, quantum engineering has the capability of transforming human productivity across many areas, including: cryptography, navigation, computing, and expediting the research process.
