Abdul Kalam was the Honored Guest at the KNI

Abdul Kalam, the 11th President of India, was our honored guest on September 15, 2009 for a behind-the-scenes tour of the KNI. Dr. Kalam was at Caltech to receive the 25th Annual International von Kármán Wings award. He has authored a number of books including Wings of Fire, India 2020, and Ignited Minds. He is also one of the most distinguished scientists of India with the unique honor of having received honorary doctorates from 36 universities in India and abroad. The Royal Society of the United Kingdom has awarded to him the King Charles II Medal for Science and Technology.
