Chemistry graduate student Michael Mazza presents an interesting and accessible talk and demo on carbon nanomaterials for Caltech's new Science Journeys program.
On December 12, 2020, Chemistry graduate student Michael Mazza from Professor Nate S. Lewis' research group presented at Caltech's Campus Programs new public lecture series, Science Journeys. There he gave a short presentation and demo on what "nano" really is, introduced carbon as an element, and the different applications that carbon nanomaterials like graphene can have for building strong and flexible materials, altering light, and conducting electricity.
Science Journeys online programs are recommended for grades 8 and up, but everyone is welcome to attend. All events are held on Friday mornings at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time.
Programs are FREE through the generosity of the Friends of Beckman Auditorium, but reservations are required.
