February 17, 2021

Dr. Wei Gao, assistant professor in Medical Engineering, and Dr. Nicholas Hutzler, assistant professor in Physics, are two recipients of the 2021 Sloan Research Fellowships. Through this program, the Sloan Foundation seeks to "stimulate fundamental research by early-career scientists and scholars of outstanding promise."

Each fellowship comes with $75,000 and can be used over a two-year period. Sloan fellowships are awarded annually to 128 researchers in the U.S. and Canada in "recognition of distinguished performance and a unique potential to make substantial contributions to their field."
